One hand holds a cup of black coffee as a cigarette dangles from her mouth. Ash tips listlessly to the ground. Like the pages of her life.
The lips are darkened as if charred black by flames. The silent stories they tell.
She doesn’t bother to hide within the solidarity of her car as the students walk past. Instead, gripped by veined hands she clutches it firmly As if her lifeline to the thoughts and processes that reside within her mind.
